Westminster ICT Club Hosts Engaging Hardware Workshop

Kupandole, Lalitpur. The ICT Club at The Westminster College successfully completed its Week 2 session of the ongoing club activities on Friday, 23 May 2025. The session, titled “Basics of Computer Hardware,” attracted 26 enthusiastic participants eager to strengthen their foundational knowledge in computing.
The workshop was expertly conducted by Mr. Shyam Krishna Maharjan, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the field of computer hardware. His depth of expertise and engaging delivery significantly enriched the learning experience.

The session covered a wide range of essential topics, including:
- Introduction to Computer Hardware: Overview of components and their interconnectivity
- Central Processing Unit (CPU): In-depth look at the brain of the computer
- Computer Memory: Understanding RAM, ROM, and their functions
- Storage Devices: Exploring HDDs, SSDs, and other storage types
- Input Devices: Functions and types of input peripherals
- Output Devices: Overview of monitors, printers, and other output tools
- Hands-On Activities: Participants had the opportunity to disassemble and reassemble a computer system and install various components, making the session highly interactive and practical.
The ICT Club believes the hands-on element played a crucial role in enhancing participants' understanding and engagement.
