Team Makalu from Westminster Secures Third Place at PSIH 2026
Kupandole, Lalitpur | The Westminster College is pleased to announce that Team Makalu secured third place at the Problem-Solving International Hackathon (PSIH) 2026, a global competition organised by the University of Westminster.
The hackathon was held on 24 February 2026 and featured a 60-minute competitive challenge designed to test students’ technical ability, logical thinking, and analytical skills.
A total of 151 students forming 43 teams participated in the hackathon, connecting campuses in London, Tashkent, Colombo, and Lalitpur. Participants were evaluated across Logic, Mathematics, and Programming.
Representing The Westminster College, Nepal, Team Makalu demonstrated strong collaboration and technical capability to secure a place among the top teams in the global competition. The team members are:
- Suprim Karki
- Purnaman Rai
- Prabin Khatri
The first and second positions were secured by Team Nano Banana and Team PSH from Westminster International University in Tashkent.
PSIH 2026 highlighted the strong academic partnership among participating institutions, including:
- University of Westminster (London, UK)
- Westminster International University in Tashkent (Uzbekistan)
- Informatics Institute of Technology (Sri Lanka)
- The Westminster College (Lalitpur, Nepal)
The competition continues to provide students with an excellent platform to demonstrate their problem-solving abilities in an international environment, while strengthening academic collaboration across partner institutions.
