Bijay's Comeback Secures Victory in Westminster Chess Final

Kupandole, Lalitpur. Bijay Rokka has claimed the title of Westminster Chess Champion 2025 after a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Niraj Sthapit in the final match held on 15 July 2025 at The Westminster College, Kupandole.
The final began with Niraj securing an early win in the first match. However, Bijay bounced back strongly, winning the next two games to secure the championship. Both finalists represented Section 'F', a group that is also making waves across other sporting events.

On his journey to the final, Bijay defeated Srijan Subedi, Santanu Taylor, and Bigyan Upreti, while Niraj earned his spot by winning against Abhishek Khadyat, Aayushman Shah, and Bedant Pandey.
The event was a part of Westminster Sports 2025, which has already seen intense action in the Futsal competition, where the championship was also clinched by a team from Section 'F'.
The Westminster College extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and winners who contributed to the success of the chess competition.
