The Westminster College is hosting the Westminster 3v3 Open Basketball Tournament on 25 August 2025 at the college basketball court as part of Admission Week 2025. Under the theme “Dribble. Drive. Dominate”, the tournament invites young basketball players to bring their best game and compete for attractive prizes.

Important Notes:

• We believe all players are familiar with the rules and regulations of basketball.
• The referee’s decision will be final and binding. Once a decision is made, it cannot be changed.
• In case of any discussion with organizers or referees, only the team captain may represent the team.
• Eligibility: U-22 – Players must be born on or after 24th August 2003 (२०६० भदौ ७, आइतवार).
• Team Size: 5 players + 1 coach/manager.
• Match Type: Half-court, 3v3 knockout format.
• Participating Teams: 32

🏀 Things to Remember
1. General Instructions

1.1 All players must report 25 minutes before match time.
1.2 Carry a valid government-issued photo ID for verification.
1.3 Each team must have 3 active players + 2 substitutes.
1.4 Players must wear proper sports attire and bibs provided.
1.5 Discipline and sportsmanship must be maintained at all times.

2. Game Format
2.1 Format: 3v3 Half-Court Game (non-standard court size)
2.2 Game duration: 10 minutes OR first to 21 points, whichever comes first.
2.3 No clock stoppage unless for serious injury or referee timeout.
2.4 12-second shot clock (verbal count by referee).

3. Scoring System
Inside the arc = 1 point
Beyond the arc = 2 points
Free throws (after fouls) = 1 point

4. Foul Rules
6 team fouls → Opponent gets 1 free throw for every foul afterward.
Unsportsmanlike behavior = technical foul.
2 technical fouls = disqualification.

5. Ball Possession & Play

A made basket → change of possession.
After rebound/steal → must clear the ball beyond the arc before attacking.
Jump ball = defensive team possession.
Substitutions only during dead balls (with referee permission).

6. Violations

Traveling, double-dribble, out-of-bounds = turnover.
Stalling or deliberate delay may be penalized.
The referee's decision is final.

7. Awards
