Kupandole, Lalitpur | The Westminster College (TWC) celebrated Tihar Utsav 2025 with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit on 19 October 2025 at the college premises. The event, organised with the support of the Events and Arts Club, brought together students, faculty, and staff for a day filled with colour, music, and tradition.

The celebration began with a Rangoli Making Competition, where eight teams showcased their creativity and teamwork. The ‘L4 D’ team, comprising Arshia Bajracharya, Nischita Maharjan, Vedant Pande, Rasayan Prajapati, and Prasiddha Bajracharya, secured the first position, while the ‘L4 B’ team- Luniva Joshi, Shrenika Ghimire, Anugya Baidhya, Safia Shrestha, and Pranid Subedi -earned the runner-up position for their beautiful design.

Simultaneously, a Diyo Painting Session was held, engaging 12 participants in showcasing their artistic skills. Nimesh Shrestha from L4 D impressed the judges with his creativity and was declared the winner of the competition.

The formal programme commenced with the lighting of the Panas by Mr Mahendra Raj Kandel, CEO of the college, and Mr Arun Lal Joshi, Head of the College. The two inaugurated the event by performing Puja rituals, joined by staff and students, symbolising unity and prosperity.

Adding to the festive joy, students took part in a Musical Chair Game, where 28 participants competed in a light-hearted atmosphere. Ruby Thapa Magar emerged as the winner, taking home a pair of earbuds as the prize.

The celebration continued with musical performances, where students including Aarogya Duwadi, Sajana Shrestha, Aayushman Shah and Suprit Rijal captivated the audience with Nepali and Hindi songs. The event also featured Deusi-Bhailo performances and culminated in a lively Dandiya dance, where students and staff joined together to mark the festival’s joyous spirit.
