Janmasthami holds a great significance among Hindus. This festival is celebrated with great pomp and show across globe by Krishna devotees. On this auspicious day Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu was born. He was the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. People observe strict fast and offer prayers to Lord Krishna and his childhood form or Ball roop of Krishna. On this day, a large number of devotees visit Krishna Mandir in Lalitpur. Various temples dedicated to Lord Krishna are decorated with flowers and lights. Devotees are preparing various types of sweets and bhog prasad.
