3 Days IoT Bootcamp
The Westminster College organised a 3 Days IoT Bootcamp from 13th-15th of September 2023, at its Kupondole campus. This programme is a part of a series of co-curricular activities tailored to enhance students' readiness for cutting-edge industry technology beyond their regular coursework. A total of 18 students actively participated in this training initiative. Over the course of three intensive sessions, attendees explored deeply into the fundamentals of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Through this programme, they acquired essential skills in IoT and engaged in hands-on project development.
Each of the three sessions featured a well-balanced combination of informative lectures, practical exercises, and focused group discussions, promoting a collaborative learning atmosphere. The students undertook IoT projects that spanned a range of applications, such as Automated Street Light Control, Smart Water Monitoring, Home Automation Systems, Weather Monitoring, IoT utilising Raspberry Pi, and Smart Gas Detection, among others.
Mr Arun Lal Joshi, the Head of the college, emphasised the importance of IoT in the ever-evolving landscape of technology, highlighting its key role in future digital transformations. He stated, "IoT represents a crucial facet of emerging technology that will drive the future's digital landscape. To prepare our students for this technological future, initiatives like these bootcamps are instrumental."
Furthermore, he announced that Westminster College is currently offering two courses from the University of Westminster, London- BSc (Hons) Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Cyber Security and Forensics. These bootcamps are set to become an integral part of the college's teaching and learning approach, further enhancing the educational experience for students.
On the closing day, students were duly honored and recognised for their participation as they received certificates from the college.
